February is already here! This month we have two new tables open in our school. A math table, that is filled with different forms of activities centered around the number of the week. Also, a science table, where children can explore animal prints, magnifying glasses, or magnets just to name a few. The children have been very active in these new areas of the class. We will be focusing on the number 9 &10. The letters P, p Q, q and R, r. Our dramatic play area will be turned into a Post Office. The children will be writing letters, sorting, and delivering mail. If you have extra envelopes, address labels and or stampers, to donate please bring them in for our Post Office. While we discuss the post office, we will talk about home addresses and where people live. If you can bring in one stamp for your child, we will be mailing out a letter for them to receive at home. Please have the stamp in by February 9th. Thank you! Once again, we will be partnering with the Senior Citizens Center and having the children draw pictures and make cards for local shut-ins. PARENTS ONLY…. On Monday, February 5, we will have a small guessing jar of conversation hearts for you to guess to win a $10.00 Dunkin Donuts gift card. The jar is by the sign in sheet. GOOD LUCK and THANK YOU to all the parents for supporting us here at school  I have sent the tax information to you. Please check with your Tax Accountant to see if you are eligible for a tax credit. In our lending library, there are new books for you to borrow. Also, there are new file folder games, puzzles, and cutting activities. Please feel free to take and enjoy with your kids. Please continue to pack snow gear for your children. We will continue to spend time outside if temperatures allow. The snow gear keeps your children warm, even when there is NO snow on the ground. Please remember to pack sneakers to have your child wear inside. Also, long sleeve shirts and or an extra sweatshirt is recommended to be worn or packed. Valentine Day parties will be Tuesday, February 13 and Wednesday, February 14. Please bring in 20 Valentine’s with just your child’s name printed on them. We will have a small Valentine exchange at our circle time. Wear red, pink, white, or purple on these days. Read, Read, for Hot Chocolate!! We are almost at our goal of 500 books!! Keep reading!! I am still hoping for 100% participation in returning a completed book log. Our Preschool will be CLOSED the week of February 19-23. We are open for daycare and will be having an Olympic them week. We do have a few spots open, so if you are interested please let me know. There is a flyer up at school for you to look at, if you have any questions. Parent conferences are on February 19 and 20 of February vacation. There are still plenty of spots to sign up. The conferences are for both preschool friends and daycare friends. If you are unavailable this week, please see me to set up a time that is convenient for both of us. The week of March 5-9th, will be Dr. Seuss week here at school.
